Remember that the forums will go down tomorrow morning at 9:00am Central and come back up on the new system at 12:00 Noon Central.

First off, many thanks for all the work you do and have done to keep these boards operational!:)
Is it me or are there no new posts since early this morning?
Secondly, after logging in on Tractor Talk I had to log in again on this page to post this message.
Also it appears that new posts to messages show up on the last page of posts instead of last post first on the old system, i.e. on the AMC post on Tractor Talk you have to click through four pages to get to the most current post.
Many thanks again!!

Thanks very much, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate the kind words people have said today.

Someone else mentioned that and I have to look at it. When I look at the forums page, it shows the current times, same on the threads page but there is a potential that the first post username and thread title being listed in the places where you see which thread was most recently posted to. That doesn't sound exactly like what you are describing. Now the older posts aren't getting replied to much so they would still show this morning's date and time. I don't think that is what you are seeing though, may need a screen shot. You can email one to me at support at yesterdaystractors.com.

The login is something that has tripped up a lot of people. There is a check box on the login that has to be checked or you'll be logged out the minute you browse away from the site, close the window or close the browser, plus it will time out quickly on purpose. It should default to stay logged on because it's purpose is so people on a shared computer won't leave their session available to others that use the computer. But be sure that box is check at the time you login next and you should stay logged in.

On the last issue, there was a screen in classic view to show the threads, but it had indented usernames showing the replies (but had none of the text of the replies). This was how you knew who replied to who. You'd only see a small part of the thread when you'd click on one of those to get a little piece of the thread. There isn't any screen like that in any modern forum, just a forum list, then a thread list, then the thread itself. So in order to get the threaded order like classic was showing on that screen, the posts themselves are ordered by who replied to who. The upside is, the entire conversation is threaded and indented to show the order people replied to one another in, the downside is that you do have to look at long threads when a lot of people reply as happens with OT conversations. I believe the saving grace is that you'll come back into the thread later where you left off. All the new posts have a small red box that says new so you can skip what you've read. There is more scrolling involved though, but it was the best I could do to get the spirit of classic without completely writing a new software package ourself (which would rapidly have some of the same problems and bugs classic had).

The migration of YMOwners forum here was a mess. Several of us were caught by total surprise and couldn't login with our IDs here.
We got no notifications nor even a splash page with instructions on what to do.

A bit shameful.

Welcome to YT, sorry the migration wasn't the best. I am guessing the HT got tagged on to your handle due to the migration of the Yanmar Forum from Hoyt Tractors to this site. It may have been done in case there were some handle duplications of handles between the two sites, in an attempt to avoid some one being blocked from the migration.

If you have read some of the other posts on this site, things here are in a bit of flux presently due to the forum software upgrade, which was the same window the Yanmar migration was added to. I suggest you send YT Support an email at: support at yesterdaystractors.com (change the at to @ and remove the spaces). Chris is very responsive and will be the one who can help you if there is a fix for it. Please be patient as he may be tied up with adjustments to the new software.
Jim
