New guy with 4400 steering issues

Hey everyone,I recently picked up my first tractor. It's a '73 4400 diesel with a laundry list of issues.
For my first round of repairs I need to dive into the steering.I need to reseal the power steering pump as it's filling the engine full of hydraulic fluid.I'm leaning toward buying the NH kit to try and get better quality parts but Im not quite sure if it's everything I would need. The other half of this journey is rebuilding the steering gearbox as it is almost impossible to turn(even when the system is full of fluid)I've seen rebuild kits for other models but none for the 4400,does anyone know of one?
I appreciate any and all help down this long and winding road!

The aftermarket reseal kits are just as good as ones from NH
Does the power steering lines from the pump go forward under the radiator or up and back to the steering column
4400 used a remote steering cylinder like the early 5000 located under the radiator, they used a manual steering box with steering linkage shifting a control valve on the cylinder to operate the power steering
5000 changed the integral power steering in the column in the 70’s but I don’t know if they changed the 4400’s steering

When you disassemble the pump, don't be surprised if you find the brass bushings are worn out and the gears have eaten into the aluminum housing of the pump. We see a lot of these pumps. I keep 2 or 3 kits and filter kits in stock at all times, but approximately 1 out of 3 of the pumps are junk and have to be replaced. Take it apart before you order your kit. Yu may need a pump.

The 4400 and 4500 stayed with the cylinder under the nose of the tractor for the full production run. The 5000 switched from the cylinder under the nose to the cylinder integrated into the steering box and the general purpose ag chassis 4000 switched from the cylinder on the left side to one integrated into the steering box at around the same time, which I think was in 1970.

Good to know the seal kits are as good! There are no lines to the steering column.

Thats great info to know, are there any good pumps out there or is it all Chinese junk?
