New Idea Manure Spreader

Hello:

I just picked up a New Idea Spreader two days ago. I believe it is a Model 19; The Serial number is D13118, and the Lot number is 403.

It seems to work real well for something that was made in the 50"s as far as I can tell.

I like to have manuals for my equipment and would appreciate any help on how to go about getting one for this piece. I can see where I may need some parts also sometime in the future, so any information on where I can get them would be appreciated also.

Your best bet is Ebay, or try a goolge search and if you're lucking, sometimes you can find free PDFs of manuals. I like to have manuals for my equipment too and these are the ways that I find them. Good Luck!

Just went through finding some parts for my #19.

Like other manufacturer"s AGCO has parts books on-line. I was able to purchase the sprocket that drives the large beaters (distributor in the parts book) for mine. Set me back $100, but sure can"t find a spreader for that so spent the cash. First real money I have put into mine after 5 years of ownership.

Have seen owners manuals on e-bay, but have not purchased one yet. Most of the operation is pretty straight forward.

I have stated here before that this spreader was the best $500 purchase ever on our little hobby place. Spent more than a year loading and unloading a pick-up bed with a fork until finding this one.

For manuals for anything New Idea go to the Coldwater Historical Soceity in Coldwater, Ohio. They have manuals avaible for just about any new Idea machine ever made.
