New shed is done

They Finnished my new shed yesterday.

Was surprised to find the doors were framed with steel. Builder says it's stringer that way, sure looks good.

Even got the first case in.

Next summer I'll have to fill in to bring the grade up. But I'm excited to get stuff in that needs it.

They are under 8' by a little. Snow loading it being ready for insulation required less than 8', I don't know how much less.

Built by Sherman?

No, built by Mat Sawatzky and Sons LLC from Mora. They were $5000 less than Sherman and it has things Sherman didn't add. They are distant relatives too. They did an awesome job.

They dug the holes and put up the posts and side girts Monday and Tuesday before Christmas. Then Monday they did the trusses and such and Tues and Wed they did the tin and doors. Would have been done Wed., but they were short some trim so they finished Thursday.

When I had mine built several years ago, the trusses laid here for three months. You can imagine what kind of shape they were in! I leased the building so I could make several payments and expense them. I've made 6 payments and the residual is due this spring. To my surprise, local Farm Credit knows nothing about leasing. All of the paperwork came from Minneapolis.

I’m just a few 100 miles south of Jon. My 48 by 81 shed has 9 foot center spacing on the poles. Has held up well for longer than I care to remember now. The years go by fast. The engineers do pretty good on this old school stuff.

Biggest trouble with the 9 foot spacing is if I want to hang something on the poles I need to start with a 10 foot long the typical 8 foot stuff laying around comes up short!

There is a lot of room around that Case tractor. Looks to me like you need to buy more Case tractors.

I just plain forgot. Thought about it yesterday a few times, but this morning it was gone from my thoughts til too late.
