New Tires for JD 40

I am looking at getting some new tires for my 40 with
11.2x24?s on the back however, I?m not sure if my front tires
are 5x15 or 6x16. It?s a standard model so no tricycle and I?m
assuming it would be the 6x16. Please let me know if I?m
correct and some recommended tire brands!

You want 5:00-15 on the front . 6:00-16 will make the tractor nose high and will waste fuel because the tractor is always driving uphill .

My 40S with 24 rears has 16" fronts.
My 320U with 24 rears has 15" fronts.

Parts book will list standard and optional sizes . With Dubuque’s if you are interested in a level tractor . Largest optional on the rear and smallest on the front .

Will require 15” rims . New rims will look better than decades old 16” rims with dents, dings and scratches .

As for brand, I just had Galaxy rears put on my '50 B. US made I believe. 11 week back order, but look great.
Recommend by other antique Tractor buffs in my area.

look at your Galaxy tires closely again. My new Galaxy rear tires have Made in India on the sidewalls

Gosh darn c.d. 1951, I stand corrected. Well, I went out to the garage and read very fine print and my Galaxys were made in...where else...but China. Perhaps you are better off with the India manufacturer? At any rate, the new tires are many times better than the decades old cracked dry tires they replace!
Now to get the fouling spark plug issue resolved.
Cold too early here as it dropped to -7C early this am. Richard E. Ontario.

. Autolite 216 or 437 are hot and hotter .
If the coolant temp is too low any plug will foul .
