New to me 3010

My father-in-law had recently passed away and I'm going to inherit his 1960 John Deere 3010 tractor has been setting a while plan on getting it and going through filters and fluids of course will have to replace Seat as mice have done their toll Found a turbocharger kit from MW online Was wondering if this was something That would benefit without hurting the tractor Appears to be a correct kit from the 1960s Thanks dusty, Sorry also we'll have to replace the rear and front tires I believe it has 14 9s could I get away with a set of 15 5s on the back How wide can I go on the front tires as it has a John Deere 148 loader motor mounted

A turbo will give that tractor some snap, but a 3010 is not a good choice to put it on. The 3010 doesn't have an oil cooler on the engine.

I had a 1963 3010 diesel widefront snchro. I would not put a turbo on it. It will have plenty of power for what it can pull it will have more weight than a light utility. It was my favorite tractor for small hay stuff easy on fuel fairly easy to fix and get parts I never should have sold it. It will most likely have an oil bath air cleaner and no diff lock two things you will miss from a 3020 I don’t know that you would want the oil bath with a turbo not something I’ve seen but I can envision a problem with that.

Other than that a nice rig. Parts will not be cheap however and is the reason mine left.

Change out the hydraulic pickup screen while your are doing the fluids might as well start fresh and learn what that is right off the bat.

15.5 tires are actually smaller then 14.9. I have one 3010 came with a 148 loader it has 15.5 rear and 12.5-15 fronts. Another one has 13.6 rear and 9.50-15 fronts with a dual loader. Last one has 15.5 with 11-15 tires it had a great bend loader.
