I have a New Holland 311 baler. On each knotter there is a pin with a clip that holds the lower portion of the knotter in place. Pull the pin and you can rotate the knotter up to look at underside.
My question is that on my knotters there is a lot of slop in the hole that pin sits on. Not in the hole in the knotter itself but sheet metal piece that mounts to the bale chamber.
So how would this slop for lack of a better word effect knotter operation. Note I can move the knotter back and forth about 3/8 inch or more with the pin installed.
I intend to weld the hole up and redrill the hole for the pin for both knotters or drill out and put a shoulder washer in there
Thoughts, suggestions?
