nh 520 spreader

found out through somebody at work that they have a relative looking to get rid of some older equipment. they have 2 manure spreaders 1 old jd not sure on model but it needs a new complete wood body put on sides and floor. they also have an old nh 520 that has a broken axle, but everything else seems to work they say, its sitting under an old 3 side shed thats about ready to fall in. i thought about picking up the 520 for a winter project, i figure if the axle isn't too bad i could maybe repair the exsisting one or possible make a new one. if its beyond repair then i could probably part it out or bring it in for scrap price. anyone ever repair an axle on a 520 or know if you can even find axles anywhere? thanks.

The axle beam assembly with both spindles is available from NH for a little over $2000. Weld in spindle assemblies are available for about $170 each. NH shows warehouse stock of both parts.
