NH273 Haydogs

The top 3 on my NH273 were froze in the up position. The bottom 2 were not froze-up completely, but we lubed them and they move more easily now.

The dealer did not have all the parts in-stock. One new hay-dog, no springs, and one pin is all they had. The rest they will have to order; and I have hay on the ground! I feel that I can adequately clean the haydogs and can find a pin at a parts house that will work. Looking for an option for the spring. Any ideas? We have other dealers (JD, MF, etc) in our town, would any of those springs be compatible?

Don't know what they look like an a NH but most hardware stores have a few drawers of assorted springs.

I baled a lot of bales with mine froze in the up position. My bales has a slanted end rather than being square. All of my dogs were usable but the springs and pins were shot. The dealer I went to had them all.

Yes, that's exactly what my haydogs looked like; not anymore though after 8+ hours of blood and sweat. I have never before encountered something so seized-up as the dogs were around the pins.

I was incorrect about the pins, I did have enough new pins to replace them, cleaned my dogs real good and re-used them, just have to get some springs. Already been to the field and my bales were not banana shaped anymore, even without two dogs having springs.
