NI 5209 mower

I mowed 2 acres of grass hay with my 'new to me' NI 5209 discbine. I recently replaced a disc drive housing, bearing, all the blades and nuts and filled up the gearbox, which was basically empty. It mowed very nice. I have been running a NH 469 haybine, so the extra speed is sweet. I does stick farther to the left than the 469, so I need to get use to that.

I had read your posts about getting and fixing it up. I am glad that it works well and hope you get many years of much faster mowing from it. Just remember that you now have the capability of getting twice as much hay rained on. LOL

good point. I usually mow in the evenings after work, and finish after dark. Ocasionally, early morning before work. Hopefully, this will speed up cutting a wet crop. 1st cutting was always the worst of course. The 469 haybine handled the wet, but I had to keep the knives and guards sharp constantly or plugging was a given. But, I can see now that repairs are more expensive and take a good bit of time.
