no.51 plow

I have a no. 51 plow and it's red in color my grandfather bought it new. Did john Deere paint some plows red?

They used red on some machinery but only on parts of it. Never saw red on any plow. For those that don't know the model it is a single bottom clutch lift on steel. Made for the unstyled JD B tractor.

Leroy , did John deere build the #51 in a two bottom version ?

It becomes a 52 plow in 2 bottom.

no.52 is the 2 bottom version.

thanks to both of you, I picked up a really nice one that was someones yard ornament when I bought it a while ago with colters and jointers in tacked and shows no real wear, not sure to what size it is without laying a tape measure on it.
