Noise from PTO

Hi All. Is this noise normal coming from PTO on John Deere B trike? One video is the PTO being turned clockwise/counter clockwise by hand and the other is with tractor running while clutch/PTO lever engaged. Thank you in advance, nutsandbolts. PS. First time uploading videos. If it was not done right please offer solution, Thanks again,

Here they are. Not a Deere guy, but if it has a Powertrol hydraulic system on it I think that also runs when the PTO is turning, is this correct? It sounds to me like in Video 2 that is an upset hydraulic system noise. If not you have some bad bearings. No ideas on the clicking. When linking a YouTube video you treat it just like a URL or web address. In YouTube click ..Share.. an option to copy the link shows, click that. In Modern you click the URL button and paste the URL with no spaces, then click the URL button again. I always do a return if I am posting another link then repeat the process. Maybe your link worked on a PC, my iPhone Safari browser would not open it. I posted this from Classic there the process is a bit different.

Hopefully I remember to check mine out when I get home. Mine's a '51 and I went through and put new bearings and gears in it a couple years ago. Buzzing sounds while running sounds normal to me. Not sure on the clicking while turning by hand

In video #2 I can see gasket material between the pump cover and the pump body and between the pump body and the rockshaft housing. There's not supposed to be any gaskets in these two areas.

Take it apart and remove the gasket material, clean up the mating surfaces, and apply only a thin coat of gasket shellac to the mating surfaces. The clearance between the pump gears and pump cover/rockshaft housing is critical to making maximum hydraulic pressure. The way you have it set up now MAY be causing the noise you hear.

Checked my B. Yes it makes a buzzing sound and a clicking sound while turning by hand. Don't think I'd get too concerned about it
