I am trying to install a rebuilt generator in an OC3 without loosening the fan belt and am having a hard time lining up the small pin in the back. Is this a possible task without having a loose fan belt? The fan pulley where I assume it is loosened is kinda boogered up and I am afraid that I won't get it back into adjustment. There is a fair amount of tension on the belt so I cannot place the pin in the hole as the generator starts out on an angle until I get it tightened up. It also looks like quite a task to remove the front plate and hood. Any help would be appreciated.
