I bought a tractor project that has OC3 trans/rear, OC4 track frames and the rest custom made. The tracks have 33 links instead of the normal 32 for an OC4, so adjustment is all the way out and still sag. After I get the master pin out, what is the best method to remove a link? Will I be able to pound the pin out? Thanks

I'm sure no expert on the subject, but from what I've read,a good number of those use pins that are slightly tapered,so they have to be driven out from right to left, meaning the right side track has to be driven in toward the machine and the left side from the inside out. I guess not all of them are,but they say if you follow that rule of thumb, they should drive out alright. From what I can see,a piece of steel shaft welded to a handle so somebody can hold it while you hit it is the way to

Best way is to carefully torch-out the pin at each end until the link including bushing can be knocked out. Then you can punch out what remains of the pin.
