My uncle used to line breather of old ford cars with KOTEX and I would like to know if that would work on my 801 Ford in place of oil?

Certainly not as an air cleaner.
Stick with the oil bath air cleaner, best one designed.

I'll catch flack for this but I worked as a mechanic in a tractor dealership when the change over from oil bath to paper filters was going on.. I saw 4020s at least double their engine life with there paper filters. There a many studies that show paper filters do a better job.

Probably handle "spotting" okay but those "heavy flow" days....I would not want to say...?
