When putting oil into the oil cup (of the Air Cleaner) do you fill it up to the fill-line inside and outside the cups inner well, or just on the outside of that well?

I just re-furbished my air cleaner and was using an alternative (since I got the tractor) until yesterday.

Well if it has the holes in the inner cup like it should then you can not fill just the outer because if you get the oil to the fill line then it is higher then the holes in the inner cup so it to has to fill so then yes both get filled or you did not add enough oil so then that means you can not just fill one no matter what. LOL

It does have the fill line, and yes it has the holes,..I guess that was a pretty stupid question huh? Regardless, thanks guys!

No question is stupid just some if you try to do what is needed will answer them self's as in this case where you can not fill one of the cups with out the other one filling also unless you do not fill it up to the line

Detmurds,

Not to worry, there are no stupid questions when it comes working on tractors (and doing it right!).

I had this same question come up before. The guy was reluctant to accept my answer. I had to take my cups off, and take pictures for him!
