Oil drain plug on engine side.

Does anyone happen to know the size of the drain plug just beside the oil filter on a Farmall 130?
Mine was seized and had to drill it out because the head was stripped off.
Can I go back with a brass one to keep it from seizing again? Or stick with the steel on cast iron and use Teflon or anti seize on it if I need to take it off again…

I don’t know the size off hand, but it will be a common taper thread pipe type thread. I often use brass replacement plugs to prevent seizing, also brass is a softer metal and will likely seal more reliably when used hold oil.

They don't have to be tighened to the last wee bit you can turn it just a bit more than snug is good and does not spread the taper when tight unlike tightening to the last bit you can turn it. Another words probably about a half turn or less after you can't turn it with your fingers. Like the fools that kept over tightening the drain plug in my one truck it got to the point I had to use the other plug because the threads had been pulled from them torquing the plug with a torque wrench after tightening it up with a regular wrench before torquing. I didn't know that till the threads were bad.this was 20 years ago now or more. Just pipe plugs don't need that tight.

I’m thinking it’s a half inch!
I don’t know those engines real well smaller than the ones for an H. I seriously doubt there is a 1/2” NPT (National Pipe Thread) pipe thread hole in that engine. Most guys could stick there thumb in a the female side of a 1/2 inch NPT or at least their index finger. My guess is a 1/4” NPT
See the chart in the link. NPT thread dimension chart

You are correct. It’s a 1/4.
Forgive my ignorance when it comes to plug sizing, haha.
I just knew that the opening was a half inch approximately and was basing off that.
I was a finish carpenter, not a plumber, haha.
What I found fits nicely.
Thanks for the tip.
