Oil Filter Adapter Suggestions

I am thinking of replacing my Canister Style Oil Filter on my Farmall H 1949. I've read about screw on oil filter adapter kits. Has anyone tried one and could possibly recommend one for me? Something I might do while staying home due to corona virus.
Thanks,
Kevin

Here is one but quite pricey...

For the cost, why change? Even if you
change your oil every 50 hours, it'll
take you years to come out even.
Original filters are available & not
difficult to change. Just my opinion.

Have to agree!

Not trying to undermine those who make this site available, but just don't see a big advantage to a spin-on filter.

Now on the other hand if someone had a kit that converted the engine to a full-flow filter and could do that for that price I might have a little different thought. But to do that would probably need a change in the output of the oil pump.

Just thinking that probably the majority of the tractors we are dealing with are not worked all that much. Even those like mine that mows around 8 acres of lawn and has been doing that for over 40 years how much added life are you going to see by upgrading the filter system?

Spin on filters are a SCAM! They make you pay for all that stuff you don't need, all that metal, when all you need is the pleated material. Just another example of the modern throw away, can't fix anything, clueless society.

I personally have no problem with spin-on filters as a rule. Agree there is a bit of waste with the steel housings.

However if you are doing several oil changes in a year on several machines as I did working in a quarry for several years the time saved made it a good option.

Now for a machine like a Farmall BN that might get one or two changes a year an the work being done by the owner the slight savings of time just doesn't justify the $90 cost of the adapter and I have an idea the spin-on filter probably cost as much if not more than the original filter!
