Oil Filter canister rubber washers

There are 2 rubber washers at bottom of center post inside my 52 8N oil filter canister (under the filter element).

They are stacked together and measure 1 1/4" diameter x 1/8" thick with 9/16" center hole.

Are they supposed to be there? Where to get proper sized replacements?

Thanks, Clem

There should be a metal spacer deep down in the cannister (19) and a rubber washer above and below the oil filter cartridge (10). Those 2 washers should come with a new cartridge.

The washers should come with new filters, but sometimes don't.I don't know if it's an oversight prob,or cost-cutting 101.---lha

Thanks.
The ~ 1 " high metal spacer (with slots on 4 sides) is there, but I can't get it to come up the shaft more than 1/2 inch.

There were 2 rubber washers on top of it, then the filter, and none on top.

Previous owner must have left them in place.

Filter canister leaked slightly at top rim.

My new NAPA filter didn't come with these washers.

Thanks, I'll replace with one washer below the filter element, one above.
