Oil filter input

There are some who will not have a spin-on, and others (including myself) who convert everything they have to spin-on. Well worth it, in my opinion. Kits available at your dealer and on ebay, and probably Car Quest and other parts stores.

if mine comes with a cartridge can style.. I leave it. if it comes spin on.. I leave it.

I tend to prefer the heavier thicker metal canister cans for safety.. however I also understand the benefits , even if only time savings, of a spin on.

if you want it.. do it..

If the tractor has a 730 or similar industrial loader, a conversion would be well worth the price. If the cartridge filter has good access around it, the issue is more of convenience vs cost. One of our regulars will come along soon and tell of a stone puncturing a spin on filter on a car 45 years ago and trashing an engine. It can happen, but it probably won't.

speaking of loader frams and spin ons.

one of my prior models with a full frame superior loader is a PIT to get to.

those spin ons are usually the same size thru many different maufacturers.. fram, motorcraft, napa.. etc.

I notices a while back that the walmart supertech st8A filter is quite a bit shorter. i started using those on my rowcrops that have that frame rail right there.. the extra incho or so of space makes a huge difference. i added one to that loader tractor and and like it..

I have at least 3 NH spin-on filters that could serve in these applications. The typical modern day 300 Dual filter, one a little longer typically used on 4 cylinder turboed Basildon engines, and one a little shorter than the 300 Dual.
