Oil filter wrench

On my YMG1800 (3 cyl diesel with 3T80U-SB engine) the locally-available oil filter is a NAPA #1334 (a relabeled WIX filter) that uses an end-cap filter wrench of an "odd" size (no one stocks it) of 82mm with 15-flutes. The NAPA main warehouse has it in their Evercraft tool line, #776-9014.

A large screwdriver and a hammer works fine for an oil filter wrench, if needed. They hand-tighten.

Harbor Frieght.. Cheap!!!!! 3 Bucks. Hard for me to get my hand on them sometimes. Even getting them hand tight for that matter <E>:?</E>

A hammered screwdriver, those filter pliers or old-fashioned channel locks, all will work. But my filter is recessed within a brush guard and is hard to grasp (on or off) so the filter cap wrench is handy. $5+change at NAPA. Ayho en Meyhico. <E></E>

I would come off the hip and use the FIL.1064 it's the NAPA Gold filter.. <E>:mrgreen:</E>

Depends of which engine you have. The 1334 is the listed NAPA Gold filter for my 3T80U engine. I know that there is an issue with needing an internal emergency bypass valve in this filter and this is the correct one for my model.

That would be the PH3593A Wally World. Napa told me that thier Filter's did not have the bypass. After hearing that The Fram # came from a Local Yanmar Dealer <E>:wink:</E>

That correct filter was determined by an American user, not by Yanmar.

Look at this list of filters, all of which fit my YM1810, to see if one will work with a locally available wrench.
NAPA 1334 (you have this one)
WIX 51568
AC Delco 1127
FRAM 3593A
Wal-Mart Super-Tech ST 2808

Maybe one or more will work with your wrench.
