Just curious why you would want whatever a remote mount oil filter is. And why you can't get the same filter as is on presently.

ym155 I am thinking of moving filter to get more room to add 65 amp alternator plus water pump and electric fan to cool radiator fan in front of radiator pusher

To alan I have no intention of changing to differant filter just to move it. Iwont have the tractor till jan2014 when I pay it off in the mean time I picked up a spare ym155 all sheet metal like new , radiator, fenders , hood ,and chassie with engine , front wheels with tires , less the transmission and starter for $300.00 could not turn it down

X2, use the smallest physically sized filter you can find for it. this will keep the oil pressure up as they already have a low oil pressure disposition which you dont want to make worse than it is.

Is the low oil pressure in the YM155 from an inadequate oil pump, or do they get a relief spring stuck or something else entirely?

Why would placing a larger filter onto the machine reduce the oil pressure?

You would need a Yanmar engineer for all of these questions. There are several instances of cam shafts twisting from seizure and destroyed valve trains on this model.

what a can of worms did I open. I simply said I want to remote the oil filter .and as to the engine having low oil pressure what I thought.

284 international you are on the right track , what do you know or hear about the regulator spring . no one here understands what damage can result from a damaged regulator and are only checking the results not the cause Bill
