oil for dist.

how often should i put oil in the distributor, and how much..i am asking about the small part with the spring loaded lid on a side mount 8n..... I'm sure this could have been worded different, but didn't know if y'all would know what i meant by saying, the snooder sticking out the dist what has a flapper on hit. is it for oil? thanks

perator's Manual gives all lubrication information.

every 10 hours, 20 or 30 wt motor oil.

And where can I get a replacement oiler for my side distributor?

My lid is no longer spring loaded and stays up inviting dirt.

Just 8 N's stocks them

if it has not been oiled in a while, load it up with some wd40 or pb blaster to get the wick 'flowing' then use whatever oil is handy. i've found the nozzle of a 3-in-1 oiler bottle works fine to add a drop or two now and then.

same with the oiler on a genny.

I over oiled my generator and got oil on comutater and generator quit working, Had to disassemble and clean it out/
