Oil for LA engine?

What oil do you use in the engine of a LA (or L or C)?

I used to use a monograde 30 or 40, but cannot get these oils now.

Have you looked for Rotella T1 30 grade? My local auto parts store stocks this, and it is a very good oil for older engines. It is formulated with a good base oil and contains a zinc additive to reduce cam wear.

15-40 diesel oil would be my choice.

Hi Bob,
We've bought a few drums 30 mongrade oil from Gulf Western.
There is also a new company, Atlantic Oil, in Ingleburn NSW that also stock 30 grade. I bought some from them at a field day recently to put in a Case 500.
