I have a JD 60 with an oil leak into the first reduction gear cover. When I fill the transmission reservoir to the full position the oil runs into the first reduction gear cover (FRGC) and runs out the drain hole if the plug is removed. If the drain hole cover is not removed oil is slung all over through the belt pulley. I have not removed the FRGC yet and was hoping get some feedback. This leak is not a drip. it is a stream the size of a pencil until the tranny oil and the leak have leveled out. Any thoughts?

Am I wrong in thinking the FRC gets oil from the Trans..??
If it were a 620/630, I would expect Engine oil found in the FRC (and Trans) would be caused by a bad Rt-Side Main, causing the Rt Main Seal to leak oil into the FRC..BUT, I think the JD "A" may have a different arrangement of oil cavities..

Are you saying that the Clutch is slinging oil..?? Has it recently been apart and that started recently.?

Ron.
