Just fired up the motor. It cranked and ran well. As you might expect, I have a few leaks here and there, but I was going to ask you what would be a good sealant to put on the oil port threads on the shoulder of the block? It is the junction that feeds the oil filter and the pressure gauge?

Use yellow or white teflon? Or a form a gasket? If so, which has had the best luck?

White or yellow will work fine - just don't let it slip over the leading edge.

huh. i'm not familiar with yellow teflon. are we talking tape, paste, or both? how does it differ from the white stuff?

The colors indicate molecular density. Yellow is denser than white and used for sealing threads in gas (not to be confused with gasoline which is a liquid) piping systems. The higher density makes it less permeable and reduces the likelihood of gas molecules migrating through the PTFE.

ty. would yellow work for all applications, or do some tasks require white?
