is there anyway of checking to be sure my oil pump is pumping on a jubilee ? My gauge is broken. Do these tractors have a sending unit to the gauge.
Thanks

eplace the mechanical gauge ~$10. No sending unit needed.

I am ordering a gauge but I was trying to get it out of my garage. I hate to wait 10 days to get one. If I take the line off at the gauge would I get oil out of that line ?

Oil will come out with tube removed, slip a rubber hose over the tube if it's steel, put the end in a bottle and crank it over.

You can pick up a cheap 3 gauge set (Temp/oil pressure/voltage) from an auto supply for under $20, I keep one in the garage for trouble shooting etc because many modern cars have 'fake' gauges.

you should get oil out of the loosened/removed line to the oil guage , i have primed my oil pump from there before . it oil pumps out of that line , you have some pressure , hook the guage back up and move the tractor. has it been sitting for awhile , that might be why it lost pressure because the pump lost prime ???????

Thanks for the input. I have ordered a new oil pump and gauge and it came in today. Now I have more questions before I put this
thing together again. The pump has no gasket between the body and plate. Do I need one ? Also do I need to put grease or anything
inside the pump to get it to prime easier ?
This is on a jubilee.
Thanks
