While mowing with my 1948 TE20 I looked down to see the oil gauge at 0, oil pressure was good when I started, oil level is good, always held good pressure{dropped a little if mowing for long periods never below 20 or so}engine has oil filter etc. pulled oil line at block no oil, engine is in good shape never uses oil, starts great etc. so before I drop pan for pump rebuild, any ideas, suggestions, help? Thanks in advance..this place is GREAT...jeff

I'm not up on your problem as others are however I believe I would have to get another gauge of some sort to make sure your gauge is still functioning properly. Others will be along shortly I am sure. Richard

[b:93f7be3691]Richard[/b:93f7be3691]. Good idea to check with another gauge but he did say "[b:93f7be3691]pulled oil line at block no oil[/b:93f7be3691]".

I wonder if his pressure relief valve is stuck open?

Don't know about Continental tractor engines but had that happen in a Continental aircraft engine - which lead to a rather memorable 30 minutes until I got back to terra firma!

There are several posible explanations for your problem;Plugged oil pressure sense line, cracked or leaking oil pickup tube, stuck open relief valve and failed oil pump. Whatever you do don"t run the engine til you find the problem. An oil starved engine will only run a few minutes.
