Oil quantity question.

HI guys,
I just drained the oil on our little B and can"t remember how much the engine holds. It looked to drain about 8 quarts from the oil pan drain plug. I"m not gonna stir things up by asking WHAT oil to use...been there, had that answered by you guys years ago...but the amount I could use help with. Thanks!

As simple as falling off a rolling log. If you drained out about 8 quarts, put back in about 6 quarts of new oil. THEN look at your DIP STICK.
If it is down some add a half Qt. look at your dip stick again. Continue this process until the
DIP STICK says FULL. Now wasn't that simple ????

Thanks for the answers guys. I guess my problem is there"s only one line cut into the dipstick and it"s way above where the oil line is with 5 quarts added.

Yea, somebody somewhere sometime switched dip sticks. Probably lost original one. Put five quarts in and then run the engine a little. Then after it sits a bit check dipstick and mark where the oil level is.
