Oil type in backhoe

For engine oil, I use a 15W-40 Diesel/Gas oil like a shell rotella.
I am currently using T5 which is syn blend.
Most any oil today is much better than what it was designed to run with.
Without knowing where you are located, it is hard to give a better recommendation
(e.g. if you are in really cold area you might want a 5W-40, really hot 20W-50).

Thanks Keith for the info... I am assum9ng that T 4 is regular conventional oil as I want to stay with it.. so Shell T4 15w40 (UPSTATE NY) should be a good choice. Thx

I'm in VA and run Mobil 10W-40 in my 3000. I used to run 10W-40 in one of my cars, but then a tree fell on it so I had a bunch leftover. I do believe the 10W gives me an extra little protection in the winter time though and with the 40W it provides plenty of protection in the summer time as well. I'm a firm believer in a wide temperature range oil, then you never have to worry about it.

I like oil that is readily available at Walmart that is good oil at a good price. I've been a Mobil user for decades so I use Mobil Delvac in my diesel and gas tractors 15w-40. Change once a year and all is good. I would not hesitate to use Shell Rotella either. If your only buying oil for your tractor most any multi weight oil will do fine, wouldn't be afraid to use Walmart brand Supertech.
FWIW Mobil usually runs good rebates on their Delvac online.

On using WM oil, their full S rated syn. multiviscosity now carries the GM green Delos or Devos or something like that
qualification which tells me that they are in the market like the big name oil companies. So I switched from Mobil 1 in
my 2011 Silverado and have started using their 15w-40 HD, C rated oil in my tractors for several years now.

WM Supertech doesn't "make" oil, they are just having someone pour oil into a container with their name on it. No company is making "bad" oil so it's as good as the other oils offered.
