Well guys did I ever get a big surprise when I
pulld the dip stick on my farmall M: WHITE OIL
Thats right right: Not good:
I hope that I dont have a bad head or a crack in the sleave,I can see where the guy i bought the tractor from was not all honest.
Do you have ideas on the white oil. This is one of these things you trust them to be honest
and guess what.
If I would have been there it may have been a different story; I gave the money to my friend
that works in the same plant that the tractor owner works in. My friend payed him and brought that night.
It makes you wonder some times about some people.
Talk to me guys is this white oil real bad.
many thanks have a great day

You mean to say you bought a tractor that age and didnt even check the oil when you looked the tractor over. Now you have a gripe when its clear you didnt give the item a verry smart going over before buying.

Your first order of business HAS TO BE to get that oil out of there. Don't run the engine with that oil!! It's 99% that water is making that oil white. Water does NOT act as a very good lubricant. Put some fresh oil in and run the engine for a while. If you are lucky the water came down the exhaust or was condensation build-up from running in short intervals. Otherwise you have a problem someplace. Could be one or more of; head gasket, cylinder crack, head crack, or...

Does take much water in the oil to make it look very bad. So it could be just from sitting and condensation or rain down the pipe but ya could also be trouble only way to be 100% sure is change the oil and also make sure the coolant level does not drop. Me I would drain the oil out and then fill the radiator and leave the oil plug out with an empty pan under it and see if the next day you have an empty pan of a pan with water in it

Put fresh oil in, and run it. Get it up to working temp, and keep her there for at least another 30-45 mins. shut her down and then look at the oil.

If it is clean and the right color, you had a condensation problem. If it is milky again, then you have a much bigger issue.

Go with the guys here. Change the oil. Most likely rainwater or condensation. Anti freeze and compression tend to make the oil gray..
Good Luck. Ryan
