Oiling crank/rod bearings

This ever happen to anyone other than me?

Driving home from work and thinking about the Jube engine rebuild. I've got the crank and piston/rods all in and torqued down so far.

Was thinking about assembly lube. Putting it together, I put lube on the housings behind the bearings as well as on the bearings.

My coming home thought was "would putting lube between the bearing and rod, crank housing and bearing make it more likely to spin a bearing???"

Did I mess up or should I have installed the bearings dry on the backside? Don't they oil behind anyway while the engine is running?

Of course oil will get in between..........you didn't see any seals to keep it out did you?

Nope. Weird crap just goes through my head sometimes. 😀

It won't make the bearings spin since they have crush when installed. You are supposed to install the bearing with the backing dry because oil inhibits heat transfer to a degree.
