Oilpump bushing

Is there a safe way to get the oil pump bushing out of the pump? And, how does one get the new one in, and, get it lined up with the lubrication hole, all without destroying the thing? Will this somehow involve my freezer as with the sleeves? Please, please don"t tell me I need some expensive special tool costing kabillions...

I had my local tractor place do mine, must have been very reasonable, as I don't remember what they charged me.

You press the old bushing out, and install the new one with a bushing driver. I got my set off eBay for about $10 plus shipping. The oil hole location doesn't matter - there is a ridge cut all around the diameter of the bore so it will line up with this hole no matter where it is - you will see what I mean once you remove the old bushing.

Once the new bushing is in - you have to ream it to fit and get the correct clearance. The reamer set - now that is a completely different thing. Not that it will cost "kabillions", but because they are very hard to find. Here is a set I lucked into off eBay and got cheap. The man restored Model A cars and the tractors had the same oil pumps. I used this set on my 1939 9N and it worked perfectly. A board member, The Old Hokie was looking into maybe making a set like this for sale.

If you are not able to find a machine shop, I will offer to remove the old bushing, install the new one, and ream it for you if you want.
