Okay JD guys....

So I was thinking about registering my John Deere 60 with this site. When I got to the part of Casting number and engine casing number I was stumped. Does this apply to my old girl? If so, where do I find them? Thanks for all inputs.

I think you'll only find serial numbers on Deeres. Only part numbers are cast in the cylinder blocks and main case, and maybe some codes or dates from the foundry.

Dubuque's are the exception to that statement. They have a number stamped into the block where the hydraulic pump mounts up. You can get JD to make a serial number tag with that number.

Okay, thanks guys. I guess it doesn't really apply so I'll press on. Just wanted to cover all angles for the info. Happy 4th!
