Old advertisement found in barn

In the corner of the old woodshed is an old Montgomery wards gasoline cook range. On top of the range there are two wooden boxes filled with all sorts of junk. Today I discovered that under the boxes was this old Farmall advertisement that was mailed to my great grandfather. He must have thought it was the perfect thing to protect the top of the old stove. Too bad it is in such bad shape but you can still read quite a bit. It even has the stamp still on it. To be honest I am a JD guy but anyone can appreciate such an old advertisement. I am thinking it is from 1938 or 1939. Would that be a correct year? My father is 81 and he tells me that stove has been in the corner of the shed for as long as he has been alive. I was thinking about putting it in a frame to preserve what is left.

nice find! just like when I bought my 400 standard gas. couple bachelors had it from new. in the tool box bottom was a newspaper lining the bottom from 1956 same year as the tractor. it is very readable and left it there. one of the nicest original 400's around.

Are you bringing it to RED POWER ROUND UP in June? There not too many gas 400 Standards around & it would be a great addition to the display. Remember, Huron,SD is on the edge of the prairie wheat belt.

If you frame it, probably a good idea to use UV resistant glass to hopefully prevent further fading.

Maybe check around various places to see if there are any hints on restoring printed materials. Could be as easy as spraying with with starch and then ironing with an iron on low temperature.
