I Just found this old chisel,cleaned it up a bit
Cant read all the letters
Im would like to make a handle and use it

Im curiuos of the age and maker,,can anyone identify it?

I have several. Nice to have for bigger projects like decks & such. Look at the color of the underside, leading up to the cutting edge. Some chisels had a piece of high carbon steel (generally a darker gray) forge welded to the bottom side to allow for a harder cutting edge, but the rest of the body is a softer more flexible steel. You'll need to find someone with a wood lathe to turn a handle. They'll need the chisel to tune the taper of the socket to fit the handle. II've made several over the years.

You're telling Larry the wood whisperer to find someone with a lathe??
 
Grandpa had a similar one with a handle about 24" long. He used it to debark poplar trees in the spring and wait until fall before sawing them.
 
I have a couple of those my self and each one has the wooden part of the handle missing
That happens when some dummy uses a metal hammer on it, they are meant for a wooden maul. Now you can use those pictures as a guide to make new handles.
