Old (green) Handyman jack

The original subject was "Old green Handyman jack".

Have some old handyman jacks also, dad has 3 one he thinks is a john deere, but it has different paint on it, but he thinks his dad painted it. What are these old jacks worth now days? $50 I was thinking maybe im low, any ideas?

I have several. I can usually pick them up at sales for $5-15. I use them all of the time. I have jacked up more buildings with them than I can count.

The jack in the picture is NOT a HandyMan jack. Mt dad had one just like it. We used it for many different things, but I think the proper name for it is "wagon jack". I THINK it was originally intended to be used for raising the front of the old narrow box wagons to aide in scooping out the ear corn. The jack we had was green, but I don't remember any kind of John Deere logo or other markings.

I think you are correct, Dad called those wagon jacks.

My uncle had several of those; he called them "Avery Jacks". Don't know why for sure, but might have been used to level a threshing machine or jack up a tractor.

a lot of them were used with the steam engines and their water wagons. Might have been used to level things up for belt work.

A real Hi Lift Jack sells for 80 bucks now .import copies go for 50 bucks.
