I have an external farmhand loader (external hyd tank and pto pump) mounted on the tractor. The hyd has been left exposed to the elements and lines have been contaminated. I need to flush things out and clean the system. What is the easiest way to do that? I want to also mount an external hyd filter. Should I put it in the return line before the hyd tank or between the tank and the pump?

I bought a whole bunch of fittings to adapt the air compressor to whatever I am trying to purge. I then added some cheaper oil and worked that through the system. Then I fill with the highest quality oil I can get for the application. As far as the filter, between the return line and the tank would be the preferred location IMO.

I forgot to add; Blow ALL the old oil out of the hyd. lines and cyl before adding some new oil and "flushing it out". Change out the tank oil after you get some time on it.
