My grandpa used to pull with a old 77 diesel. It has now sat in the back of his shed for the past 20+ yrs because it spun a rod bearing. How hard would this be to replace or fix? How much would it cost? Would I have to get the crankshaft reworked or get a new crankshaft? I'm not sure if it is stuck, but if it is, it can be too bad. It's been sitting in a shed, away from the elements. Another bad thing though, its been sitting that long without any oil in the engine. It has also has a few parts stolen, but I figured i could just buy a parts tractor for a few hundred bucks and get the parts off of that. I know its missing a gas tank, the grill and radiator to say the least. It has 18.4 tires, which are weathered some, with two sets of wheel weights on it. It also has two way hydraulics, so if i just put some regular sized tires on it, it could be nice for pulling a disk around. How hard do you think it would be to get this old girl running again? I'm sure since I'm his only grandson, and if I play my cards right, he'd probably give it to me. What do you guys think? Is it worth the money? I will post pics the next time I get up to his farm. Thanks
