But threads like "what color should I paint my tractor" that was posted 10 years ago shouldn't get revived on accident.
The moderators will not sort out threads saying “these are keepers and this group is trash” just not going to happen. It will be an all or nothing approach.
Id suggest making the time stamp either bigger or darker font or both.
That is a good idea, but more importantly and helpful, would be keeping the mindset that when you decide to reply that checking the date beforehand is “nearly” as important as the information you are adding.

Software doesn’t adapt to users. You learn to use it or be frustrated. All software works that way and lots of it has a steep learning curve. Programming to everyone’s desires is impossible.

I think new owners put them there (old posts) to stir up interest, then sit back and chuckle when someone gets suckered. It happened on another forum when they started a Facebook account but some old posts were used as plants (added) to stir up hits....James

If you really believe that about the YT moderators and the owners for that matter you should join G love on FB and drink Zuckerberg’s Kool-Aid.
Believe it or not Kris and Kim made the decision to keep them there. After the change over to the new software the Similar Threads plagued the YT forums with old revived posts. Several of us strongly suggested that they be eliminated but for whatever reason the moderators insisted that they stay. The main thing I don’t understand is why they don’t have a warning about the post being old when you attempt to reply. Other forums that use the same platform have those warnings in place.

And the time stamp is hard to see when it's the same color as the Grey background. Im for the dark mode as well. That's where it the background is dark but the text is white. Easier on the eyes.

This is a dark mode option. Dark background and lighter text. Easier on the eyes. Less battery usage as well.

Yes, I know what "dark mode" is!

On a similar note, as of August first, our state made "blackout" license plates available, same principle, I guess, and they are apparently very popular.

Now, if there was just some way to get folks to dim their headlights we'd be in great shape!
