old spark plugs

Found an old Champion spark plug size chart when I was cleaning my office at work today. It says my A needs a 2 common for gas and a 8 common for distillate. I love looking through that old stuff. It is dated 1953.

I think the Com. is for commercial , not common . Commercial engines worked harder and were of a different heat range.....

It also mentions other older brands like Stitt, Edison, Defiance, and Blue Crown. Anybody remember those brands?
