Old tandem disk

I have an old IH tandem disk that I used to pull at shows with my Case "L" I had replaced some broken blades and repainted when I got it 25 years ago. I sold my old tractors and it has been sitting for last 3 years. Now a friend wants to buy it to disk between his newly planted tree grove. It is one without wheels that you pull rope to straighten out for transport and then back up in field to angle. What's it worth? I posted a picture last week when someone was asking about paint scheme. Ill try and find it.

I have a similar disc, think it's aJD. Bought it about 25 years ago for $50 I think it was. Maybe $100 at most. Had another one given to me for the hauling away.

It has two values. First is scrap price. Second is what your friend is willing to pay for it.

Yesterday I went to Dover, Tn to visit a fellow YT member, JM
Somewhere between Hopkinsville and Dover I saw an Amish guy standing on a tandem disk hitched to 6 horses.
Then I saw another Amish guy pulling a cyclebar mower with 3 horses. He smiled and waved as we passed.
How cool is that?
No idea what it's worth?
Limited market unless you know an Amish person. .
Some Amish communities have a weekly auction.

It is not a rare piece of equipment but it is rare to find one in useable condition . You might be surprised what it would bring at auction. I’ve seen disks that I wouldn’t even bother to hook onto bring $300 to $600. Depends who wants it and how much you like them. Everyone kept the tractors and scrapped the implements, now they want the implements to pull with their tractor and there’s not much left out there. That makes it more valuable in my opinion

I'd just give it to him,,

New 8 footer is $4,000.00 so at 10 cents on the dollar $400.00 seems fair.
Got any Amish. Check Amish newspaper. They have an ad section for buy sell.
If he is a good friend, give it to him.

It's an IH disc. We had one many years ago. There were wheels for it. There were four separate wheel assy and they were steel wheels. There was a threaded crank assy you had to hook to each wheel and the frame then one at a time, crank up each section of the disc.
