Older grain drill

We have about 20-30 acres of forest we are turning into pasture. I am looking for an older grain drill 8-10’ with a small grain bin. Within a 2hrs drive I have found an older IH510 but he says it has a large grain seed box but I can see what appears to be a small seed box on the back bottom. Other option is an old Oliver grain drill that they said last worked when parked 3yrs ago or a John Deere van brunt. I also found a MF33 about 2.5hrs away. In a yr or 2 we will be working on the other part of the property that would need the large seed for some food plots. So just trying to buy once. Any advice or suggestions welcome

On the 510 I think what he means is the small grains box is large? The small box on the back could be for large grass seed. Like brome grass. Or it could be for fine grass seed as I see no fine grass seed box in front of the grain box. If that Oliver drill is in decent shape it will do a more consistent/even job of seeding your small grain seed. It has 2 sides over the feeder gears one of which is covered depending on what type of grain you are sowing, and an adjustable gear box to regulate the speed of feeder gears or whatever it is they are called. The 510 just has a slide to expose more or less opening depending on type of grain seed. If it was me I would check out the Oliver.

Same here. I got rid of my International when I found a 17 hole Oliver 64. The accuracy can't be beat.
