Older snap on tool value

I have a older snap on 1/2 drive ratchet that i acquired when i bought my tool box. It is a sr-710. From what I found online it was made in 1948. I was wondering if there is any collector value in it or if it is just another ratchet. I have plenty of other ratchets to use so if it has collector value i might sale it.

put it on e-bay I just sold some 1930s Snap-On stuff on there , one was a 1937 19/32 drive ratchet for 250.00

It looks exactly like the Snap-On ratchet that came with the set I bought in about 1971. It seems that the Snap-On brand does not have the same appreciation that it once had. At an auction a few years ago, there were several Snap-On wrenches. Off set end wrenches etc. I paid little attention because I figured someone else wanted them worse than I did, but as it turned out, I was the only bidder. Got the full set for $5.

I traded a early Snap-On groove joint pliers (that the Snap-On man recognized from a number on the inside of the handle as being very early and not branded with the Snap-On logo. For a whole set of every size up to 20 inch new Snap-On groove joint pliers. I am still happy. Jim

It has some value to the right person... to some people a tool is a tool and tools mean work!!
But to some people it has to be brand name..

I work with a guy that pays extra for anything that comes off the snap on truck.. That includes his SOCKS...

I got Snap On socks. The dealer gave a pair away for Christmas presents and they were so comfee my wife got me about a half dozen more pairs.

Here is my L710, the first SnapOn tool I bought 61years ago. Dealer has taken to truck many times over the years to rebuild. Dealer came in one day and started going thru my boxes and throwing tools on floor, I ask what he was doing and he said replacing them with new, he was checking for chrome starting to peal and replaced them! That was in the early 1970 I bought a lot of tools off of that dealer and sure hated when he retired 20 yrs later. Also included in picture a SnapOn ratchet used to make a brake over bar into ratchet, and the next to the handiest ratchet they ever made. The handiest was the flex head 1/4" long handle.

Well value is hard , when you compare the brand new 1948 list price , I am
sure it is worth more than it was new . Many compare price of old tools to
to todays brand new Snap On , I don't see it that way . I see it as whatever it was
in the year it was new , then depreciate for used , thats a pretty much indestructible ratchet
wear some leather gloves when you use it and it will be nice and shinny again

I thought I was the only guy with the little 3/8 ratchet. Never seen another one until now.

Ive got one of them myself. As I recall, I was having a difficult time getting the starter off of a Ford skid steer that was the main loader in a hog confinement barn. Just happened that the truck came by at the right time. This would have been in 1977. I hardly ever let the boy use it, as I thought it might strip out easier than a regular size one.
