I ordered trans oil for my 150 MF and was sent 85w 140 EP gear oil (CL-5), is this what I need ? Already drained oil, ready to refill , Please advise ..

for my hydraulics I was advised to use TRANS HYDRAULICS stated on jug.
I was told a C-1 fluid & not to use a C-5 because of it's age ? I told the guy what I was doing and that's what he sent, just wonder if it's too thin/thick or the wrong thing in general ..

Your MF150 is not an old Fergy in general terms. Referring to it as such makes one think you have an old (Harry) Ferguson. Those are often called Fergie's.

Your Massey Ferguson 150 Operator's Manual should tell you to use a fluid/oil meeting the Massey Ferguson M1129-A spec. Most of the current Universal Tractor Transmission Hydraulic Fluids meet that spec. I don't think you want 85W140.

Wrong stuff for a tractor that age. You should have universal tractor fluid. Definitely do not use that heavy oil if your tractor has Multi-Power.

Thanks , "ole fergy" came from when I posted about my T-20 Ferguson I was working on . I didn't think 85W140 was right according to what I had read, that's just what the store had sent .. thanks again...
