Oliver 1650

I picked up a project 1968 Oliver 1650 gas model that is in good shape. Stored inside. So far, we've put a distributor, cap rotor, wires, and plugs on it. Still cleaning the fuel tank, it starts, runs excellent! Now in the process of getting all the old hydraulic fluid out, without a drain plug, it has to be pumped out. Hyd filter was missing, so we put one in, hydraulics were sluggish at best, with lots of nasty garbage coming out with yet another hyd oil change. Questions I have.
OK to continue to use Universal Hyd oil, or is there a better option?
Motor oil I have 15w40 diesel oil by the drum, OK to use this or stick with a 10w30?
Hydrapower unit stinks like gear oil, will replace with dextron III according to manual.
Rear oil a little milky, recommendation? 85w90?
thank you in advance for the advice offered up!
BTW I intend yo use this tractor this summer to mow hay with.

Tranny 80-90w gear oil
Hydrapower dexron III will work.
Engine oil 15w-40 is fine.
Regular ol' universal hydraulic fluid is fine although I'm concerned with the lack of a filter and the fact you've got crud throughout the system.

If you have it on hand, you can run Mobil 424 or an equivalent on everything except the engine of course. I'd also be throwing in a new thermostat and Cat EC-1 spec/distilled. When you flush be aware the back of these blocks can hide a lot of crud.

No drain plug???

I've drained my 1550 by siphoning through the fill port. Pull the cap and put a hose down toward the left side. You can snake it right down to the
pan. My lift arms would barely work so I tore it all apart. Turned out to be the pump had blown gaskets but I did find some crud and rust in there.
Pull the valve unit off and you can get a good look inside.

Thank you. We pulled the top off the hyd., looks preety good no rust, its getting a thorough cleaning, plus replacing the pump, low pressure (300psi).
