My neighbor has a 1755 that needs batteries replaced. He took the old ones out,& can't remember how the cables were connected. From what he described
I assume there are two 6V batteries in series for 12V system with a negative ground. Is this correct? He asked for some help and I want to steer him
right. Thanks for the help.

Yes 2 six volts in series with a negative ground.

I use one 12 volt on my 1755 Diesel. The tractor is not used in the winter.
