Oliver 1800 hydraulics

I was wanting to know if i could take the hydraulic
unit off. I am trying to loose weight for pulling
and i was wanting to know id i could still have
power steering with it.

The hydraulic system has a flow divider that directed 1.5 GPM fluid flow to the steering system, so remove the hyraulic system and that is gone.  There is a difference between the early tractors and late or those that had the conversion pkg.  Those tractors that did not have a hydraulic system had a belt driven pump for the steering.  You could probably find a pump in a auto parts yard that would work.
