What"s the easiest way to remove the nuts on the end of the gang and do you have to remove all blades to put a new inside one on?

I have used 2 large pipe wrenches and as cheater bar to remove them nuts, They have to be real tight. One on one of the spools and the other on the end with cheater bar. Blades only go on one way, have to take others off till you get to the one you want to replace. You putting on new blade or used one to match size of others? I have an old IH 10' disk then needs blades, would like to find a bunch of used ones for it. Chris
