Oliver 440 restoration

I am in the process of restoring a 1962 Oliver 440.
Looking for brake shoes-should be the same as a Cockshutt 20. I have two completely broken and another with some band metal worn off.
Also want to confirm that to replace the brakes on the left side it looks like you need to seperate the axle housing from the transmission case to get the brake shoes off. The IT manual I have only states to remove the top and bottom covers, the attaching hardware and springs and remove the shoes from the top. This worked great for the right side but cannot do it on the left.

Did you ever have any luck with your brake parts? If not, you may have to fabricate them from scratch. Not something you want to do, but I'm also an owner of a 440 and I know the predicament that you are going through when trying to get parts. I wanted to get clutch pars for my 440 a few months ago and I finally found them, but most suppliers just laugh and say "We haven't sold any parts for a 440 for decades!"
That being said, is your tractor a three-point, or do you have a hitch? The reason I ask is because my tractor is a three-point and I'm trying to convert it to hitch. I posted this several months ago, but have not been able to work on my tractor because of major health issues of a family member. Do you have these parts?

I unfortunately do not have a drawbar hitch as mine has the three-point hitch. I will keep my eye out for one with a drawbar.
I feel your pain in restoring these tractors. I was fortunate enough to find good restorable brake shoes and also the lining and rivets to replace on them. We are getting into restoring these rare tractors late in the game as I, also, am finding out a lot of my time is spent on finding parts and/or getting existing ones repaired or fabricated. I am not sure if you have a farm equipment dealer close that will get parts from a site called Parts Depot but I had your two numbers checked and the part number 451016A comes up with two at their Tennessee depot (451017A did not show up). If that actually is one of the parts you are looking for you possibly can then take it to someone who can duplicate the design to make one to fit the other side. Hope this helps!
